Financial Aid for Bills and Living Necessities

There are many non-profit organizations and agencies that offer assistance for individuals and families who need help paying utility bills, loan payments, groceries, clothing, and general necessities of life. Some offer grants and others offer easy-to-payback loans.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis - (612) 664-8500

They offer a host of programs, including emergency financial assistance for paying rent, energy, and heating bills. Other services include counseling services, family services, a food pantry, a homeless shelter, and prevention counseling.

The Salvation Army - (651) 746-3400 and (612) 789-1512

 Offers assistance with rent, mortgage payments, utilities, gasoline for personal vehicles and bus tokens in the local area. They provide assistance and resources for fixed-income seniors, people with disabilities, and families with an unexpected crisis. They also give vouchers for clothing and furniture from thrift stores. Food pantry is available on site. Additionally, they also provide rental assistance, help with car repairs, and counseling.
